When do we have the level test?

  • The level test is done after the admissions interview and at the set class time or it can be done at another time provided both students and teachers are available.

What are the materials to be used?

  • After the level test, the teacher will provide assessment including the learning materials to be used. KIDS/Junior Students: Available textbooks in ST. ADULTS/Senior Students: Available textbooks in ST and BAND topics.

*** Please be advised that books are at student’s own expense outside the tuition fee. Parents/Students are advised to purchase the books online or at a bookstore.

How do I choose my class time and class schedule?

  • SomedayTalk has a standard class time and class schedule. Please refer to the class time table. The class schedule is with the tuition fee information. Please be advised that we are very strict about our class time and class schedules so as to have an organized timetable for our teachers.

When is a student marked absent?

  • A student is marked absent by the teacher if there are no responses ten (10) minutes after being called/messaged/notified on both Skype and Kakaotalk. Also, no advance information was provided by the student.
  • Classes marked as absent are without makeup classes.

When is a class marked as a postponed class?

  • A class is marked postponed if student informed teacher or student manager in advance that they cannot attend the class.

Can a student request for a makeup class?

  • Yes, a student can. Below is the policy for make-up classes: Policy: Postponed classes on whatever reasons (student’s side). As long as the student has informed the teacher in advance. Technical problems on the teacher’s side.

    Conditions: A teacher is only required to give a maximum of two (2)make-up classes per week. The student understands that a teacher is only required to give a maximum of two make-up classes per week and even for consecutive postponements exceeding the allowed number. Only once can a student reschedule a make-up class. Provided student informed in advance. Otherwise, it will be forfeited. Makeup classes should be arranged and delivered within a week or the next week after postponement or it will expire.

Can a student put classes on hold?

  • Yes, a student can. Below is the policy for putting classes on hold:
    1. Student should INFORM IN ADVANCE.
    2. A minimum of 3 days and a maximum of 10 days can be requested. For classes on hold for more than 10 days, the teacher can already opt to ask for a new student or teacher can wait for the student to come back.
    3. This can only be requested ONCE in a month.

Why do substitute teachers call me?

  • Substitute teachers are teachers assigned to your class under these reasons:
    1. Teacher has an emergency (i.e. power outages, internet connection issues, medical, and personal). It is optional. Students/parents are asked if they can allow a substitute teacher to call.
    2. Teacher is on SIL (service incentive leave) of up to 3 consecutive days. Substitute teacher assignment is mandatory. It is part of the conditions on Tuition Fee Rates.
    3. Teacher is on ST’s special service incentive leave (5 consecutive holiday vacation). Substitute teacher assignment is mandatory. It is part of the conditions on Tuition Fee Rates.

What if my teacher doesn’t call me on my class time?

  • We know that it is our teacher’s duty to call you on your class time and for the management to inform you if there are some situations on the teacher’s side. Can I request for a change of teacher, a change of class time or schedule?

  • Yes, you can. Just send the Student Manager [(kakaotalk/skype): iamjulia2014] a message of request and we will arrange it with you provided a teacher is available at your class time. We would also want to know about the reason for the change so we hope you can also provide it for us.

About Tuition Fee Payments:

  • For new students: A student receives a message on Telegram (from @imgreenbie) or an e-mail (from somedaytalk@gmail.com) a week, at most, after confirmation of enrollment. This message/email contains instructions on how to pay as well as the computation of the tuition fee. You can reply directly to the said message/e-mail if you have concerns, queries, or requests about it.
  • For old students: A notification/payment reminder is posted on the SomedayTalk Channel on Telegram every last week of the month.
  • For Tuition Fee concerns: Please send @imgreenbie a message on Telegram.
