Missing a class

Absent

No answer within 10 minutes after the teacher calls or messages on Zoom, KakaoTalk or another medium. There is no make-up for an absence.

Postponed

The student cannot attend that day but wants a make-up class. Please tell the teacher in advance.

Cancelled

The student cannot attend that day and does not want a make-up class.

Class-on-hold

For long leave, business trips or emergencies: at least 3 and at most 10 days, once a month. Beyond 10 days the same teacher and time cannot be guaranteed. Refunds for classes on hold are settled quarterly.

Make-up classes

You get a make-up class when

  • the class was postponed in advance
  • the teacher could not teach for technical or personal reasons
  • it is a Philippine holiday set by SomedayTalk

Conditions

  • At most two make-up classes a week, however many days were postponed.
  • A make-up class can be rescheduled once, with notice; otherwise it is forfeited.
  • It must take place in the same week as the postponed class or the next.
  • There is no make-up for an absence without notice.

Holidays

Korean holidays

All Korean public holidays, including Labor Day (May 1), are days off, with no refund.

Philippine holidays

Important family and religious days for our teachers; classes are always made up: Good Friday, All Saints’ Day (Nov 1), Christmas Eve (Dec 24) and Dec 31.

FAQ

Can I change my teacher?
Yes. Ask the Student Manager, and we will change it if a teacher is available at your class time. Please tell us why, so we can take the right steps.
Can I change my class time or schedule?
Yes. Ask the Student Manager, and we will change it if a teacher is available at the time you want.
What if the teacher does not contact me at class time?
Contacting the student at class time is the teacher’s duty, and the manager tells you in advance if something comes up. If there is still no contact five minutes after the start without notice, tell JuLia or a head teacher and we will sort it out at once.
